Since 2006, Fundación American Football Films has used faith, football, mentorship, and media to create opportunities for young people in Panama. What began with one six-year-old athlete has grown into a community serving more than 100 participants through weekly training, competition, education, and leadership development.

2006 — one athlete, one beginning

At historic Balboa Stadium, six-year-old Omar Henry was invited to join a new youth football division - U10 Micro category of the KFL. That invitation became the beginning of FAFF’s mission: using faith, football, mentorship, and opportunity to help young people grow.

2006–2008 — FROM ONE TO MORE THAN TWENTY

Coach Andre began transporting and mentoring young athletes who lacked access to equipment, coaching, transportation, or registration fees. Within two years, one athlete had become more than twenty—forming the foundation of a growing football family.

2015–2018 — BUILDING THE FOUNDATION

In 2015, FAFF began the demanding process of becoming a formally recognized nonprofit organization. Working with attorneys, establishing its Board of Directors, and completing the required legal steps took several years. In 2018, FAFF received the signed document formally recognizing the Foundation through PANDEPORTES.

2018–PRESENT — OPENING INTERNATIONAL DOORS

FAFF has helped families pursue high-school and university opportunities in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. Edgard Dean, one of the Foundation’s first four athletes, received a top university scholarship and remains active in the sport.

2022 — U15 LEADERSHIP: A PARTNERSHIP BEGINS

With the support of then AFFP President Guillermo Suárez, Coach Andre served as head coach of Panama’s U15 national selection at the USA Football Jr. International Championship in Michigan. Coach Jack Reed served as offensive coach. Their shared experience began a close friendship and enduring international coaching partnership.

2022/2023 — CANCÚN BOWL: BELIEVERS GO INTERNATIONAL

Following Michigan, Coach Andre led two Believers-centered teams representing Panama at the 2022 and 2023 Cancún Bowls. Through fundraising and lower-cost arrangements, FAFF created a more accessible international opportunity. It marked the Believers’ first international competition, with the first U17 team finishing as runner-up.

2023 — 507 DEVILS: NFL FLAG CHAMPIONS

Coach Reed invited Coach Andre to provide media support for the 507 Devils, an all-Panamanian girls team competing at the 2023 NFL FLAG Championships during the Pro Bowl in Las Vegas. The team won the championship on the Pro Bowl stage televised by the NFL.

2023 — BELIEVERS 2.0: A NEW GENERATION

Coach Emiliano Tuñón and Coach Andre united the oldest Gators of Don Bosco and Believers athletes under one banner. The partnership won championships and became Believers 2.0—the generation now driving much of the program’s coaching and junior leadership. Coach Tuñón later founded Liga Pro Desarrollo, Believers’ principal league today.

2024–2025 — OPENING DOORS FOR GIRLS

FAFF expanded opportunities for girls and began forming coed teams for local and international competition. This milestone reflected the Foundation’s continuing commitment to inclusion, development, and creating a place for new athletes to learn the game.



Through flag football, tackle football, mentorship, and educational opportunities, FAFF helps young people from communities across Panama grow as athletes, coaches, students, and leaders. Our programs combine disciplined sports training with character-building, guidance, and access to opportunities that might otherwise remain out of reach.
